Michelle Abel-Shoup
Program Manager, ACOG Leadership Institute
Ms. Abel-Shoup is the Program Manager for the ACOG Robert C. Cefalo Leadership Institute at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Pubic Health in the Maternal and Child Health Department. She manages all aspects of the program in Chapel Hill, including communications, logistics, operations, finances, and evaluation and reporting. She is also the Program Manager for the UNC Clinical Scholars Program, one of four national program centers for the Advancing Change Leadership Program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Prior to her work at UNC, Ms. Abel-Shoup worked in the hospitality and meeting planning industry and also has extensive program management experience with community/non-profit organizations. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and volunteers in many community and civic organizations. Though not clinically trained, Ms. Abel-Shoup has over 25 years of experience in the Maternal & Child Health field as a mother of three!
